Pre-Production Quality Review
Drawing Review
- Verify dimensions and tolerances are specified
- Confirm GD&T symbols and datums
- Check surface finish requirements
- Identify critical features for inspection
- Clarify ambiguities with customer
DFM Review
- Assess manufacturability of design
- Suggest tolerance adjustments if needed
- Recommend material alternatives
- Optimize features for cost reduction
- Identify potential quality risks
Inspection
Dimensional inspection and CMM use may be applied when appropriate for the feature, tolerance, geometry and agreed inspection plan. CMM availability does not mean every feature, part or order automatically receives a CMM report.
CMM Measurement
Coordinate Measuring Machine inspection for precise 3D dimensional verification of complex geometries, when applicable.
Dimensional Inspection
Measurement of specified dimensions against drawing requirements, per agreed inspection plan.
Visual Inspection
Thorough visual examination for surface defects, scratches, dents, and cosmetic issues.
Surface Finish Check
Surface roughness measurement using profilometers to verify Ra specifications.
Documentation
Dimensional reports, CMM reports, material or finishing records, first-article documentation, CoC, RoHS/REACH or PPAP may be provided when applicable and included in the agreed quality scope.
FAI Report
First Article Inspection when applicable and agreed
CMM Report
Coordinate Measuring Machine measurement data when applicable
Material Certificate
Mill certificate with chemical and mechanical properties
Certificate of Conformity
Declaration that parts meet specified requirements
RoHS/REACH Compliance
Compliance statements when applicable
PPAP (when applicable)
Production part approval may be available for specific projects
