Common CNC Machining Challenges We Help Solve

Complex Geometries

5-axis machining for intricate features and undercuts

Tolerance Review

Tolerance capability is reviewed for the specific feature, material, geometry, setup and inspection method

Large Workpiece

Applicable large-workpiece projects up to approximately 800 x 1980 mm may be reviewed, subject to feasibility

Thin Walls

Thin-wall feasibility and distortion risk are reviewed against material, geometry, setup and workholding.

Surface Finish

Consistent surface quality meeting Ra specifications

Material Variety

Experience with metals, plastics, and exotic alloys

CNC Machining Processes

CNC Milling

3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling for complex prismatic parts. Ideal for enclosures, brackets, and structural components.

  • Multi-face machining in single setup
  • Complex contours and pockets
  • High-speed machining available

CNC Turning

Precision turning for cylindrical and rotational parts. Suitable for shafts, pins, bushings, and threaded components.

  • Live tooling for milling operations
  • Threading and knurling
  • Production quantity and process route are reviewed for the specific part family.

5-Axis CNC Machining

Simultaneous 5-axis machining for complex surfaces and multi-feature components requiring reduced setups.

  • Single setup for complex parts
  • Reduced cycle times
  • Superior surface finish

Mill-Turn Machining

Combined milling and turning operations for parts requiring both rotational and prismatic features in a single setup.

  • Combined milling and turning may reduce setups for suitable part geometries, subject to process-route review.
  • Improved accuracy
  • Reduced handling

Materials for CNC Machining

High thermal/electrical conductivity

Carbon Steel

High strength, cost-effective

Plastics

PEEK

High temperature, chemical resistant

POM (Acetal)

Low friction, dimensional stability

Nylon (PA)

Tough, wear resistant

ABS

Impact resistant, easy to machine

PC (Polycarbonate)

Transparent, impact resistant

PMMA (Acrylic)

Optical clarity, decorative

PTFE (Teflon)

Low friction, chemical inert

PVC

Chemical resistant, electrical insulation

CNC Tolerance and Inspection

Tolerance Capability

Tolerance capability is reviewed for the specific feature, material, geometry, setup, workholding and inspection method. A tolerance achieved on one feature or project is not a universal capability for every part.

General tolerances and applicable standards must be specified in the drawing or agreed during project review.

Inspection Methods

  • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
  • Optical comparators
  • Surface roughness testers
  • Hardness testing
  • Visual inspection
